About the artwork:
The boy is of Chinese descent representing that Xavier school has always been a missionary school for Chinese Filipinos. The crown represents Jesus as the guiding being to the schools missions and visions. The boy in a seemingly flying motion indicates the limitless potentials of who they can be in the future guided by the principles and discipline of Xavier school. The cape and the subjects within the cape will represent all the ideas, the learnings and wisdom as they go through the curriculum offered by the school. The whole narrative of the work encompasses the school’s motto of “let your light shine” as the boy brave and determined to conquer his challenges with Jesus as head and the horse (represents Xavier) as its companion.
